Overview and Documents Requirement
- For tourism purposes (category "TR")
- To seek a medical treatment in Thailand within 60 days (category "MT")
Note : Those who are scheduled to seek medical treatment in Thailand longer than 60 days, please apply for Non-Immigrant Visa category “O” for the stay not exceeding 90 days.
- For Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions (category “MICE”) supported by Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) only upon instruction from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand
VALIDITY 3 months for single entry / 6 months for multiple entries
PERIOD OF STAY Not exceeding 60 days for single entry / Not exceeding 60 days for each stay for multiple entries
REQUIREMENTS
For All Categories:
- Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months with a copy of biodata page
- Visa application form completely filled out
- Two photographs (passport size 3.5x4.5 cm) with a white background taken within the past six months
- Student ID card (if applicable)
- Original bank statement of the applicant or a print out with official stamp of the bank showing a balance of at least 1,000 USD per person or 2,000 USD per family in equivalent during the past six months
- Round-trip flight booking confirmation
Only for Category "TR":
- Hotel booking confirmation or proof of accommodation in Thailand such as invitation letter from family or friend in Thailand
Only for Category "MT":
ONLY for those with special cases approved by the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand
- Letter from the hospital in Thailand
- Confirmation Letter and Affidavit of Support issued by the hospital in Thailand with official stamp from the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand
- Document proving relationship between the patient and attendants as immediate family (if applicable)
- Proof of accommodation in Thailand such as hotel booking or invitation letter from family or friend in Thailand
- Consular officers reserve the rights to request additional documents as deemed necessary
For Minor Child:
- A birth certificate (original and a copy /or a notarised copy)
A letter of consent from a parent who will not be traveling or from both of the parents if both are not traveling (original and a copy /or a notarised copy)
SPECIAL TOURIST VISA - STV (single entry only)
- This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to enter Thailand for tourism purposes.
- STV visa holders will initially be permitted to stay in Thailand up to 90 days including the quarantine period.
- The extension of stay can be requested at the Immigration Bureau in Thailand up to 2 times at the maximum of 90 days per each extension.
- The maximum stay in total, therefore, shall NOT exceed 270 days including the quarantine period.
- The current end date of the STV scheme is 30 September 2022.
- ELIGIBILITY
1.1 Applicant must not be a person prohibited from entering the Kingdom as provided by the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 (1979)
1.2 Applicant must have no criminal records in Thailand and the country of the applicant’s nationality or residence.
1.3 Applicant must have the nationality of or permanent residence in the country where application is submitted.
1.4 Applicant must NOT have prohibitive diseases (Leprosy, Tuberculosis, drug addiction, Elephantiasis, third phase of Syphilis) as indicated in the Ministerial Regulation No. 14 B.E. 2535.
1.5 Applicant must have a Thai health insurance covering the length of stay in Thailand with no less than 40,000 THB coverage for outpatient treatment and no less than 400,000 THB for inpatient treatment. (must be specifically mentioned) Applicant may consider buying a Thai health insurance online at longstay.tgia.org
1.6 Applicant must have a health insurance covering medical expenses in Thailand with a minimum coverage of 100,000 USD for COVID-19 (must be specifically mentioned).
1.7 Applicant is prohibited from engaging in any gainful employment in Thailand. - REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
2.1 Passport with validity of not less than 12 months
2.2 2 copies of completed visa application forms
2.3 2 passport-sized photos (3.5 x 4.5 cm) of the applicant taken within the past six months
2.4 Confirmed roundtrip flight reservation or ticket
2.5 Certificate of Good Conduct (Certificate of Conduct) issued by the competent authority of the country of his or her nationality or residence stating that the applicant has no criminal record. The certificate shall be valid for not more than three months and must be legalised by his/her diplomatic mission.
2.6 A medical certificate (download form) issued from the country where the application is submitted, showing no prohibitive diseases as indicated in the Ministerial Regulation No.14 (B.E. 2535). 2.7 Health insurance:
- (Thai insurance only) covering the length of stay in Thailand with no less than 40,000 THB coverage for outpatient treatment and no less than 400,000 THB for inpatient treatment (must be specifically mentioned). Applicant may consider buying a Thai health insurance online at longstay.tgia.org.

2.8 Proof of payment (paid in full) for AQ / SHA+ hotel
2.9 Proof of payment (paid in full) for the accommodation in Thailand for the whole period of intended stay (within the initially permitted 90-day stay) OR proof of ownership of a condominium in Thailand
Note: - Consular Officers reserve the rights to request additional documents as deemed necessary.
Photo Specifications
Note: We regret we cannot accept photographs that do not meet these requirements
Please provide one recent photograph (not more than 6 months old) of yourself, which should not have been used previously in the passport. The photograph should be in colour and:
- Taken against a white background so that features are distinguishable and contrast against the background.
- Clear share quality and with the 80% face in focus.
- Printed on normal photographic paper (camera print).
- Full face, non-smiling [without glasses, a hat/cap or other head covering, unless the applicant wears such items because of their religious belief or ethnic background]
- Please stick the Photograph on the Visa Application Form.
- Note: Please follow these instructions carefully. If photographs presented do not meet these requirements your application will be considered incomplete. A photo booth meeting these requirements is available at the centre.
Processing Time
The normal visa processing period of the Embassy is 4 days, including submission and returning of passports.

Transit Checklist
To travel in transit through Thailand in order to proceed to the country of destination or to re-enter his/her own country (category "TS") Note: Transit less than 12 hours remaining within the restricted area in the airport does not require transit visa. Transit longer than 12 hours shall require transit visa despite the stay within restricted area.
- Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months with a copy of biodata page

- Evidence of travel from Thailand (confirmed air ticket paid in full)
- Hotel booking if staying for a night (Fully Paid)
- Visa of a third country in a passport or travel document
- Original personal bank statement certified by the Bank for the last Six months showing a balance of at least 1,000USD per person or 2,000USD per family
Transit Sprot Checklist(category “S’’)
To participate in sports activities (sportsmen, sportswomen, etc.) within one month (category "S") Note: Those who are scheduled to stay in the Kingdom longer than one month, please apply for Non-Immigrant Visa category “O”.
- Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months with a copy of biodata page
- Visa application form completely filled out
- Two photographs (passport size 3.5x4.5 cm) with a white background taken within the past six months
- Round-trip flight booking Confirmation (Fully Paid)
- Hotel booking Confirmation (Fully Paid)
- Letter of invitation stating the application's participation in sports activities in the Kingdom
- Original personal bank statement certified by the Bank for the last Six months showing a balance of at least 1,000USD per person or 2,000USD per family

- Letter of invitation from trading or associated partners/companies in Thailand
- ID copy of the signatory
- Original personal bank statement certified by the Bank for the last Six months showing a balance of at least 1,000USD per person or 2,000USD per family
- A birth certificate (original and a copy /or a notarized copy)
- Legalized written consent from both parents if the minor travels alone, or from the parent that Is not accompanying the child when travelling.
- Copy of both parent’s ID/Passports.
- A letter from School containing the minors name, grade and number of years.
MEDICAL CHECKLIST(MT)
